Donor Profile: Ginger Yang

Ginger Yang, IPRC alum and now an Associate Professor at the Department of Community and Behavioral Health, College of Public Health at the University of Iowa, talks about her reasons for donating to the Carol W. Runyan Chair In Injury Prevention and Control:

“I was very privileged to start my first injury prevention and control experience at the UNC IPRC directed by Dr. Carol Runyan. During my time at the IPRC, I had an opportunity to hone my research skills through the involvement in many elements of research, including research design, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and conference presentation.  I feel especially fortunate to be a mentee of Dr. Carol Runyan, who taught me the importance of injury prevention and has continued to inspire me to apply my knowledge to real-world problems and prevent injuries by implementing effective intervention strategies. I want to give back to the UNC IPRC not only through my work, but also through supporting the Carol W. Runyan chair, which will be used to support young faculty and help fulfill IPRC’s mission of training future leaders in injury prevention and control.”
